Learn Benefits of Oregano and a Recipe of Tea with Herbs and Spices

Herbs and spices have been used for centuries to cure and prevent diseases and you do not need a PhD in biology to access their ancient secrets as the nature has saved and contains a single source of natural remedies with the use of herbs and spices. In this article, we will see how Oregano and a tea with herbs and spices can improve our health as it believed that diseases arise due to the separation with natural and healthy way of eating.

 

Oregano

 

If ever you bite a piece of fresh oregano, you do not ever forget how strong its natural oils are. If you have ever tried oregano oil in its pure form, you will burn the senses.

 

Oregano herb is considered number one in the list of herbs with antioxidant and it contains numerous phytochemicals that have been used as medicine for colds as a diuretic and antifungal.

 

Research from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) found that a tablespoon of oregano has as much of antioxidant as a medium apple. You can use it fresh or dried in soups, on pizza or pasta or you can use eat fresh tomatoes with dried oregano sprinkled on top with a touch of sea salt and extra virgin olive oil.

 

So when you cook your next meal, add different kinds of herbs and spices because they add flavor and health to your dishes.

 

Recipe for Tea with Herbs and Spices
 

You do not have to cook for incorporating herbs and spices in your daily life. Here I show my favorite recipe for tea with Ayurvedic spices. Tea is known for its antioxidant properties

 

Ingredients

 

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground coriander

  • Fennel (to taste)

  • 3 tbsp. crushed cardamom

  • 1/3 cup freshly chopped ginger

  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

  • 1 cinnamon twig

  • 3 cloves of anise pepper

  • 3 cups of milk

  • 3 tbsp. black tea

 

Method

 

  • Boil water and add coriander, fennel and cardamom.

  • Now stir it well and add the remaining spices reduce heat.

  • Let it boil for few minutes and let it cool and place in refrigerator for 6-8 hours or let it out overnight.

  • Now heat the milk and add the spices from the night before and let it boil.

  • Add black tea and stir frequently to prevent burning for 5 minutes.

  • Strain and sweeten with stevia, honey or brown sugar and your tea is ready.

 

Once you start using herbs and spices in your daily diet, you will see extremely positive changes in your health and energy level.
